An obsessive cineaste is nothing without a number of lists. I’ve compiled several along with a group of friends that are going backwards by year for each decade. I got a late start and only began with the 04s, yet I will start from the 00s by the time we get through.

Criterion Close-Up 
If you ever do a 2008 list, if you haven’t already, check out Lucrecia Martel’s The Headless Woman. I first heard of it in Mark Cousins’ The Story of Film: An Odyssey dvd series.
I saw the Cousins series and own the book, but must have forgotten the Martel reference. La Cienaga was real good and I’d like to explore more of her work, so it’ll be on the list to watch when we get around to 2008.
